Taste of Saskatchewan Underway in Saskatoon
John Howden - SaskTel Centre

Farmscape for July 17, 2018

Over 100 thousand people are expected to visit Kiwanis Park in Saskatoon over the next six days to sample the best foods Saskatoon area restaurants have to offer.
"Taste of Saskatchewan," underway today until Sunday in Saskatoon, features 30 Saskatoon and area restaurants serving their best dishes, local bands activities for the kids and cooking demonstrations.
John Howden, the Director of Business Development with SaskTel Centre, says the event offers something for everyone.

Clip-John Howden-SaskTel Centre:
Our demographic is wide open.
We have families with kids, we have the university crowd and then of course the older crowd as well.
We get a lot of people in the day that come from their office towers and come down to the park for lunch and then we've got families.
It's a great opportunity for restaurants to promote themselves, promote the type and quality of food that they do have available and to let the citizens and tourists in the city know that they do exist and perhaps they'll want to come down to their actual restaurant and sample more of their items.
For the customer it's an opportunity to get out, enjoy the river bank n Saskatoon in the summer.
It's so beautiful downtown, to check out all of these wonderful restaurants and to sample some great food and of course enjoy some live music and see some talented chefs participate in the Chef's series.
It's actually free to be in the park and to listen to the music or enjoy the Chef's Stage.
There is a kid's area with a bouncy castle and things like that for a few dollars.
Tokens can be purchased to participate in those types of things so really the only cost is actually the food itself to try all the different cuisine that is available in the park.
We invite everyone to come down and check it out because there really is something for everyone.
